June 2011 News
| | | Hello everyone,
It's been pretty relaxed this month for me. As some of you may know, I'm a big fan of new technology and the most exciting thing of the past month for me has been the release of my own iPhone app which is now available on Apple's App Store. You can download it from HERE. The app contains information about me and my music as well as a couple of tracks alongside pictures and videos. it's a very compact yet user-friendly app, so if you own an iPhone, iPod Touch or an iPad, just download and enjoy, it's free!
I'm also very much looking forwards to our next gig at the Basement on the 26th of June. Here's a few details regarding this gig. Bill Risby is going to join me on the piano for the first set with tracks from the Golden Ring album then joining us will be Alex Hewetson on Bass, Warren Trout on Drums, Carl Dewhurst on Guitar and Craig Walters on Saxophone. If you are around Sydney during this time and haven't got your tickets yet, they are available for $16 plus booking fee online at Moshtix and $22 at doors.
In my previous newsletter, I did mention another upcoming gig at the 505 in Surry Hills, Sydney. The date for this gig has been confirmed for the 25th of August. Tickets are available for $10 for students and $15 for the rest. Doors will be opened at 7:30PM and it's first come first serve.
Bye for now and I hope to see all of you at the Basement!
Much love,
Steve. |

SC NEWS MAY JUNE
| | | Hello everyone,
Finally winter has kicked into Sydney and June is swiftly arriving. To all of you who reside on the other side of the globe, I envy you!
I’ve been regularly performing at the >b>Vagabond Jazz Cruise that tours around the breathtaking Sydney Harbour. My collaboration with Chew Fu Purple Rain, a Prince cover is coming out on the 12th of May 2011 on his Chew Fu and... Volume 1 album, and most excitingly, I’m very much looking forward to performing at The Basement on the 26th of June this year. So for those of you who live in Sydney, or any of my overseas friends that may get a chance to drop by this gorgeous part of the world, come on over to The Basement. Tickets can be ordered in advance from Moshtix.
Away from the stage lights, I'm staying inside my studio more often these days, currently working on some song-writing. I also got to meet up with Eric Bibb around a month ago when he was touring in Sydney. Great experience! We exchanged CD's and I was flattered to hear "Golden Ring" being played on the breaks at his concert at the Enmore Theatre.
Thanks a million for your support and I hope to see as many of you as possible at The Basement on the 26th of June.
Much love,
Steve. |

SC News Dec/Jan
| | | It's been a great year and many thanks to all for supporting the band and the solo performances. 2010 has been amazing, many new discoveries and many inspiring moments. There has however been a sore lack of public gigs near the end of this year due to corporate commitments. There are lots of new things on the horizon for 2011. The band will be invigorated by some new faces and the Sydney Global Jazz Festival is on the way. Details soon enough. This will be BIG! A new album in the coming year and inspired new performances. Thanks again for the love and support and watch this space for more news soon. Peace............S |

SC News April
| | STEVE CLISBY BAND @ THE BASEMENT – April 30
Steve Clisby returns to the Basement better than ever - armed with a reinvigorated repertoire and a cookin’ band, featuring guest keyboardist Nik Pringadi and vocalist Glenn Cunningham - the velvet-toned singer is sure to bring the house down.
The Steve Clisby story is largely unsung, but his are the classic hallmarks of a life lived in music and the stuff that dreams and careers are made of.
BOOK NOW - for an evening of sheer talent. Where truly the blood, sweat and tears of an artist’s journey are soulfully and beautifully rendered. Where the smoothest band Sydney could offer tenderly and powerfully keeps the pace behind him. Where lifting the soul is the aim and the game is pure entertainment.
